Cavanaugh has served in a number of diverse roles that give him a unique perspective as a strategic marketing consultant. Prior to founding MSG, Cavanaugh was vice president of marketing for The Biltmore Company in Asheville, North Carolina. Cavanaugh helped guide the company’s marketing strategy and execution for over nine years. During his tenure, Biltmore Estate doubled its revenue and became the most visited historic house attraction in the U.S. Cavanaugh also directed marketing for the Inn on Biltmore Estate and the estate’s winery. Cavanaugh has served as chairman of North Carolina’s state travel and tourism board, Asheville/Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority and Blue Ridge Mountain Host (a regional tourism group). He has served as a consultant to numerous destination marketing organizations, attractions, and hospitality-related businesses. He also has experience in consumer packaged goods marketing, and his background includes a bachelor’s degree in history from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Emory University.

    The Wilburn Group - Dr. Robert C. Wilburn was the Founding President of the Gettysburg Foundation and the former President and CEO of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and the Carnegie Museums and Library in Pittsburgh. He has designed, built and financed numerous museums, libraries and research facilities including the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center, the Carnegie Science Center and the Warhol Museum. With two of his sons as principals, Jason with experience in management systems and process improvement and Jesse with a background in real estate development and private equity financing, he created the Wilburn Group to do general management consulting with an emphasis on: public private partnerships; mergers of non profits; the planning, financing, and construction of museums, libraries and academic facilities; and the preparation for and conducting of capital campaigns.
